CCAvenue from Mumbai and BuildBazaar.com from Ahmedabad formed a joint venture to launch an online market place Dhamaal.com
Dhamaal.com intends to bring in the best merchants and plans to become a known platform for these merchants to get a medium to sell their products and promote their brands.
“At CCAvenue, we have more than 15,000 merchants from across the country that include those from tier II and III cities. These sellers do not have a platform to sell their products or promote their business; so they still remain unknown. Dhamaal.com is a solution for them. By listing their products on our platform, merchants get a medium to promote their brands,” a company spokesperson told.
Dhamaal.com enables merchants to register, list and sell their products on its platform. As of now, listings are free. However, going forward the company will charge a nominal fee for listing.
According to a company spokesperson, the platform has listed more than 15 million products from across nine categories, including apparel, books, camera, kids, home & living, among others. It has got commitment from close to 300 merchants so far.
The company transports products to 500 cities. CCAvenue has partnered with over 50 banks across India. One can also recharge his/her mobile and DTH through the platform.
India has recently witnessed a few e-commerce platforms tweaking their model to launch marketplaces. Leading marketplaces in the country are Healthkart, Snapdeal, Jabong and Indiatimes.
