The Rise Of e-Reading [Infographics]

Well, I own a Kindle. I also have a Kindle App on my iPod Touch and my Android phone too. But, I still love the feel of real books and somehow keep buying them. I love to hold a book physically and read. With the rise of eBooks, Kindles and Nooks, there is the possibility that we could all be reading digitally at some point in the future, and the paper book could go the way of the dodo and the dinosaurs.

Our infographic today, courtesy of Schools.com, examines the rise of eReading and whether books are going to become a rare endangered species.  Apparently 43% of Americans over the age of 16 read an eBook in 2011. And worldwide, the numbers are slowly rising too, with Kindle predictably leading the pack. This is probably because Kindle books can be read on not only a Kindle, but also on iPadsiPhonesAndroidWindows Phone 7Blackberry, and the web itself.
