SnapDeal and ReGlobe Team up to allow users sell their Old Gadgets for Instant Cash

Online marketplace Snapdeal.com has inked an exclusive partnership with Manak Waste Management Pvt Ltd that runs a used gadgets’ exchange service called ReGlobe . As part of the partnership, Snapdeal has introduced ReGlobe on its portal wherein consumers can sell their used mobile phones, tablets and laptops in exchange for hard cash.

For doing the same, users will have to identify their gadgets’ brand and visit the site’s ReGlobe section, fill in details about its condition, get a quote and schedule a pick-up for the gadget. An ReGlobe technician will then visit the address (provided by the user) to physically verify the gadget, post which the customer will get paid the amount mentioned in the online quote. In case of any discrepancies between the details filled online and the actual condition of the gadget, the technician will revise the quote and if the new amount is agreed upon by both parties, the payment is made on the spot.

“It is a commercial partnership between both the companies, Snapdeal and Manak Waste Management through which both will benefit. Though our focus is on three types of gadgets—mobile phones, tablets and laptops—going forward we may also look at appliances,” said Tony Navin, VP, business development at Snapdeal. He said the firm expects at least 15-20 per cent mobile phones sold via Snapdeal to be exchanged in the next quarter.

While it is an exclusive revenue sharing partnership for online channels, Manak Waste Management will continue to offer its services offline. Its pick-up services are available in nine cities—Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Noida, Ghaziabad, Mumbai, Bangalore, Secunderabad and Hyderabad.
