Samsung Uses a Reworked Gangnam Style To Promote Galaxy S4 in India

Samsung is known for its incredibly high marketing budget and the sort of things it does with it. The company is now using a re-worked edition of Psy’s Gangnam Style to promote the new Samsung Galaxy S4.

A video of the performance has been uploaded to YouTube by Films Of India, showing actor Ranveer Singh dancing on stage with a fresh batch of lyrics designed to promote the flagship device.

Now just check this out:

What was my reaction to this?

Well, I was glad I don’t work at Samsung’s Marketing team. This is crap! Samsung has been known to create great commercials and have decent product launch events, but for this one, I have no words.

But it’s not all Samsung’s fault here

The event was actually organized by Reliance Digital and not directly by Samsung, which is why the pathetic song asks people to buy the phone from Reliance Digital. It is possible that Samsung had nothing to do with this event. I still feel that if such things can hamper a company’s reputation, something has to be done about it.

What do you think about this?
