India’s top Street Fighter V athlete Mayank Prajapati and reigning eFootball national champion Hemanth Kommu will represent India in the world finals of the Global Esports Games 2022, scheduled to take place in Istanbul from December 14 to 18.
Reigning national champions Mayank and Hemanth have received direct entries for the prestigious event. India’s DOTA2 team, on the other hand, couldn’t make it to the world finals after they crashed out of the Asia-Pacific region qualifiers.
Mayank, popularly known as MiKeYROG, clinched the title of National Esports Championships (NESC) 2022, conducted by Esports Federation of India (ESFI) in April this year and will also represent India at the Asian Games which is scheduled next year.
Revenant Esports has appointed well-renowned Korean coach Yoon Kyung-Ho, popularly known as Malix, to reinforce its Valorant roster.
The announcement came as a massive boost for one of India’s most consistent Valorant team—Revenant Esports, especially with Malix being a distinguished coach from the international Valorant community. He specialises in performance and strategic coaching as well as player development.
S8UL, an Indian esports organisation boasting a star-studded roster, is proud of the newest addition to its list of prominent gamers and content creators – Raj Verma aka SNAX. S8UL owners, Thug, Goldy and Mortal shared heartwarming messages for the creator who also expressed his excitement on becoming a part of the S8UL family.
Snax, hailing from Hyderabad enjoys a massive fan base in the Southern part of the country, as witnessed at the recently held DreamHack’22. Fans went berserk when his entry into S8UL was announced during the event, and it was indeed a talked-about induction. As a BGMI player, SNAX is renowned for his assaulting drills. With 1.38 million subscribers on YouTube, 863K followers on Loco, and 730k followers on Instagram SNAX is on his way to become the largest names in the industry.
With this induction, S8UL is moving further towards its vision to become a one-stop platform for India’s leading gaming content creators to come together and create engaging content for fans and gamers. With the likes of Mortal, Scout, Viper, Snax, Thug, Payal, Mamba and more coming together, fans can expect bigger and better things from S8UL. As other S8UL creators, Snax too will be invited to stay at S8UL’s state of the art gaming house worth USD 1mn in Mumbai.
Along with content creation, Snax is a professional Esports athlete known for his achievements in BGMI with teams such as Team XO and Velocity Gaming. The 22-year-old emerged victorious in the Upthrust Esports India Rising and Skyesports Grand Slam earlier this year
Apart from content creation, he will also be executing campaigns and leveraging more brand deals as part of one of the largest hubs for Esports and gaming content in India.
The Valorant India Invitational organised by Galaxy Racer is going to feature eight teams in its LAN event. All eight teams boast of top-notch talent and will challenge for the elusive trophy and grab a lion’s share of the US$100,000 prize pool.
Former G2 Esports player, Mixwell was recently announced by Team Heretic and he will lead the team in India. The tournament will also feature APAC kings Paper Rex, Team Secret, Rex Regum Qeon, Boom Esports and Bleed Esports. These six teams will be joined by Enigma Gaming and GodSquad, the two Indian teams in the LAN event.
Team Heretics, a Spanish Esports organization, has been known for its consistent triumphs in the past two years. Led by the experienced Mixwell, he will surely be someone to watch out for.
Enigma Gaming and GodSquad have secured their berths by winning the Indian qualifiers. Recently, GodSquad became the sole Indian team to get a slot at the Valorant Champions Tour 2023-24.
Teams from Singapore, Paper Rex and Bleed Esports, are other big names taking part in the tournament. While Paper Rex has represented the APAC region in every major international tournament this year, Bleed Esports sealed their spot in the final through SEA Qualifiers. Team Secret from the Philippines and Indonesian outfits Boom Esports and Rex Regum Qeon, will also be looking to make their mark at this prestigious event.
