MBASkool – For the Students and By the Students

I know that if you are a MBA student or a graduate you might be thinking, why and who needs another portal?

Students are already filled with hundreds of materials, case studies, and various other papers and documents to study and as usual the college has its own portal to which the students are obviously connected to.

MBASkool is not your just another portal and neither its an admissions website.

MBASkool has the highest quality content contributed by the students of reputed B-Schools in India like IIM A, IIM, B, IIM C, XLRI, IIM Indore, IIFT, FMS, NMIMS, JBIMS and many more. As i mentioned in the title ‘For the Students and By the Students’.

We had and opportunity to talk to Manmeet Singh, Founder at MBASkool and know more about it.

How did the idea of MBASkool come up? What’s the mission or goal behind it?

The concept of MBASkool originated when we were pursuing our MBA. When we were studying our MBA course, we realised that there was no dedicated website which can address the needs of MBA Students and aspirants. All the MBA websites were focusing on admissions and exams like CAT, XAT etc but none actually talked about management content and business knowledge which would benefit the students, aspirants and professionals.

There was no unified platform for knowledge creation and sharing, so we came up with idea of creating it ourselves.

Have you got tie-ups in the B-Schools? If yes, how many tie-ups have been done so far? Can you provide the names?

Yes, We have got a lot of tie ups with some of the most reputed B-Schools in India.

We have tied up with B-Schools through Event tie ups, Contests, Internships and Campus Coordinator initiative etc.  MBASkool has been associated with IIM A, IIM B, IIM I, XLRI, IIFT, FMS, NMIMS, JBIMS, TAPMI and many more.

We have also received participation from from University of Southwales, SP Jain Dubai/Singapore as well.

How has been the entrepreneur journey so far? What are obstacles you had to overcome?

The journey as an entrepreneur has been very exciting and has helped us grow more as individuals.

We faced a lot of obstacles in the beginning but we learnt a lot from them. The main obstacles which we faced was on the technical front and taking the brand to students and also maintaining the content inflow. Running a knowledge content based website like MBASkool can bring in many challenges on a regular basis but finding a solution is a challenge which we are willing to accept. These obstacles teach us a lot and help us in becoming more robust and bring the best out of us.

If you were asked to give 3 growth hack tips to the entrepreneurs who have just started their journey, what would it be?
  • Do not stop believing in your idea, it is only you who can make it big.
  • Take obstacles in your stride and take them as lessons.
  • Be realistic and practical in your approach, and plan before you execute.
Tell us something about the people behind MBASkool.

MBASkool was started by Manmeet Singh and Divij S. We did our MBA in 2010 from NMIMS, Mumbai. Our passion lead to the creation of MBASkool as we wanted to help students and make a difference. We are very fond of playing football, online gaming and photography.

Manmeet Singh and Divji S – Team MBASkool

Is MBASkool bootstrapped or have you received any fundings?

MBASkool is bootstrapped as of now. In initial phase we were able to fund it through our savings. Now we are able to run it successfully through the generated revenue.

What are your future plans for MBASkool?

We plan to tie up with more b-schools and take MBASkool to maximum students across the globe. We plan to launch more sections which would help students even more. With new sections and associations in pipeline, we aim to manifold the traffic and increase the B-School associations to 500+ b-schools.

We would like to involve students in content creation through submissions and internships.
