High Tech Suction Mat to Clean Shoe Soles [Video]

A suction mat developed by Paionia Furyokuki removes dirt from the soles of shoes. All the user needs to do is stand on the mat.

“So far, mats have often been rented to users, and if they get dirty, the user replaces or cleans them. But with our product, the mat itself suctions dirt, so the mat is always clean. This mat has an unusual concept, as the mat itself stops dirt from being carried into a building, by cleaning people’s shoes.”

“The orange part is just a stand that’s used here to hide the suction hose. So basically, the system consists of the mat, the cleaner, the hose, front and back slopes, and a sensor. The sensor detects a person approaching, and turns on the cleaner. This mat doesn’t need installation work; it can be used as soon as it’s put in place.”

A set including a mat, risers, hose, and cleaner is available for 500,000 yen in Japan ($6,250).

You might have to sell your soul to clean your soles with this one!
