This multi-specialty healthcare provider delivering a hassle-free experience for elective surgeries and cosmetic procedures with personalised care believes it’s an OYO for the healthcare network.
India has a large secondary care surgery market, with over 30 million patients undergoing various surgical procedures each year. However, there is significant balkanisation, with unorganised players accounting for more than 90% of this market. Corporate and organised hospitals only solve 10% of the problem.
To address the issue, Archit Garg and Dr. Preet Pal Thakur devised the concept of establishing a full-stack healthcare center to provide a seamless experience to patients by fixing a dysfunctional healthcare system riddled with pain points such as pricing shock, lack of accountability, backlog of surgeries, lack of quality treatment, administrative hassles during admission and discharge, and insurance-related activities. Glamyo was subsequently launched in February 2020.
The Tech Panda spoke to Archit Garg, Co-founder of Glamyo, about their journey so far.

“Glamyo was founded to empower the patients and impact the lives of millions of underprivileged people in pain and discomfort by making use of the latest technology, finest healthcare facilities and skilled practitioners available to all,” he says.
Glamyo addresses three major issues for the patient. The foremost is the lack of information, leading the majority of patients to believe that only top brands are available options. It offers an online platform that informs patients about the best hospitals in their city for the required treatments and procedures.
The second problem is accessibility. When a patient is admitted to a hospital, they are usually bothered by a variety of mundane processes. Glamyo assigns relationship managers to act as a liaison between the patient and the doctor to provide patients with seamless service.
A highly qualified and experienced Glamyo surgeon performs the surgery at one of the partners – a chain of over 300 co-branded hospitals with over 200+ surgeons spread across 16 cities at the moment.
The third gap in the surgical market is financing. Glamyo collaborates with various financing stakeholders like insurance aggregators / EMI partners for arranging single window clearance for patients for their healthcare financing needs.
Garg and Dr. Thakur knew each other for over 10 years and worked together at Milestone Religare Private Equity.
“After the in-depth analysis of the elective surgery market in India, we discovered the disparity in services available to the patient across different regions,” says Garg.

The founders, who have previously worked as medical experts and healthcare venture capitalists, also understood that healthcare is a highly personalised industry, with each patient’s needs being distinctly different.
Glamyo is utilising technology to facilitate patients with a hassle-free experience from admission to discharge.
“By leveraging sophisticated technology, Glamyo strives to offer patients with transparent, fair information and assistance throughout their surgical journey. Since we specialise in minimally invasive surgeries, advanced surgical gadgets are adopted for the safe and quick recovery of patients,” explains Garg.

“In addition, our in-house insurance team employs cutting-edge technology to make insurance use as simple as possible. Patients receive a mobile dashboard to track real-time details such as Uber cab arrival times, OT scheduled times, and follow-up reminders, among other things,” he adds.
In comparison to other market players, Glamyo specialises in minimally invasive elective surgeries such as cosmetic, ophthalmology, proctology, urology, gynaecology, vascular, laparoscopic surgeries, dental and other cosmetic procedures. These treatments are available to the patient with a click of a button and at the nearest Glamyo-affiliated hospitals without the need for patients to travel to metropolitan cities.
“Glamyo Health’s value propositions include 24×7 quality care, complete price transparency, no-cost financing options, and administrative support,” says Garg.
Glamyo has scaled 8x in the last 12 months, successfully handling more than 150,000 patient interactions in 16+ cities across the country over the last two years, despite three COVID waves. Currently, it has ties with over 300 hospitals across the country as well as over 200 highly qualified surgeons who provide cutting-edge surgical care on a daily basis.

It has ambitious plans for the future, aiming to touch one million plus lives in the next 12 months.
“Over the next two years, Glamyo is motivated to mark its footprints in 45 plus cities, add more than 500 healthcare providers and 400+ highly experienced surgeons/doctors to its platform and arrange 100 Mn USD in patient financing,” says Garg.
