Google Launches Keep, Evernote Rival

Yesterday, on its blog, Google announced Keep, a note-taking and list-making app similar to Evernote. Google Keep is available both as a web application and as an Android app. You can try the service out now for yourself at Drive.Google.com/Keep or download the Android app from the Google Play Store.

Google has launched Keep with the intention to provide an application with which you can quickly jot ideas down when you think of them and even include checklists and photos to keep track of what’s important to you. Your notes are safely stored in Google Drive and synced to all your devices so you can always have them at hand.

Keep also lets you speak to it: the service transcribes voice memos for you automatically. Since we’re talking about Google here, there’s also a “super-fast search” function so you can find the note you wrote, read it, and then either archive or delete it.

Here is a video to show you how it works:

The Android app has been integrated to the lock screen so that you don’t have to go anywhere to put down what’s on your mind.

Watch out Evernote, Google Keep is here.
