Google+ Hangout With Indian Policy Makers

Well, Indian Ministers and policy makers all seem to be getting quite tech-savvy. The PMO already has a pretty active Twitter account, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is also on board and now everyone seems to be having quite some fun at Google+ hangouts too.

Few days after the budget was announced, the Finance Minister, Mr. P Chidambaram used the Google+ platform to interact with citizens and take their opinion about the budget. This time the Planning Commission wants to have a similar session and take citizen views for the 12th Five Year Plan.

By participating in this hangout, people can ask questions and give suggestions for the planning of the 12th Five Year Plan. The session will have senior Indian policymakers like Dr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission and Mr. Sam Pitroda, Advisor to the PM on Public Information Infrastructure and Innovation, as well as other members of the Commission.

How to Participate

It is pretty simple actually. Just head over to the event page,
Hangout with the Planning Commission of India! #12thPlan and click on Yes under the “Going To Event” question. That’s it.

The hangout is scheduled for today, 15th March 2013 between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM IST.

You can also drop-in your question before hand on the hangout page with hashtag #12thPlan.

You can also watch the live broadcast at the Planning Commission’s Youtube Channel.

Dr. C P Joshi, Minister of Road Transport and Highways is also having a citizen hangout to discuss safety on highways, on 29th March, 2013. More details here.
