Google Chromebooks to Arrive in India on October 17th

Google has just announced that it is bringing the Chromebooks, to India for the first time next week.

A post on the Google India’s blog explains that the Haswell-powered Acer C720, and the HP Chromebook 14 are headed to Indian shores on October 17. These will be the first Chrome OS powered devices to land in the country and should provide an interesting alternative for computer buyers.

Chromebooks are easier to use than traditional computers you may be used to. They boot up in seconds and automatically stay up-to-date and hassle-free. There’s no need to worry about security updates, anti-virus protections or malware.

The Acer C720 Chromebook and the HP Chromebook 14 come with 100GB of free* Google Drive storage, so you can safely store all your stuff on the web. Google has also partnered with Tikona and Airtel to provide a range of cellular and broadband offers.

The Acer device will retail for Rs. 22,999 while the HP Chromebook will be priced at Rs. 26,990. Both will be available from selected Reliance Digital and Croma stores in Delhi and Mumbai, but can be pre-ordered from Flipkart
