Funding alert: Tech startups that raked in moolah this month

The Tech Panda takes a look at recent funding events in the tech ecosystem, seeking to know where the cash is flowing.

Startup: BatteryPool

Sector: EV

Amount: INR8 cr

Led by: Inflection Point Ventures

BatteryPool, a company enabling pay-as-you-go EV battery access, has raised INR8 crore in its Pre-Series A round led by Inflection Point Ventures. The round also saw participation from Indian Angel Network (IAN), Chennai Angels, Keiretsu Forum and notable HNIs. With BatteryPool currently managing over 2000+ batteries across 6 cities, the funding will be used to scale its battery fleet 10x over the next 18 months, strengthening its nationwide footprint.

Vikram Ramasubramanian, Inflection Point Ventures, says, “As an emerging economy that’s adopting EVs, India holds immense potential that can be unlocked through innovative, flexible solutions. Where commercial operation of EVs is concerned, fast and efficient charging becomes vital because any delay directly leads to a loss of time and hence revenues. BatteryPool addresses this by providing seamless, pay-as-you-go access to charged batteries, helping riders and businesses be constantly mobile. In addition, the company monetizes batteries through their complete lifecycle, creating multiple revenue streams out of one single asset.”

Startup: CrisprBits Private Limited Limited

Sector: Biotechnology

Amount: US$3 M

Led by: Rajendra Gogri, Chairman & MD of Aarti Industries Ltd

Bengaluru-based biotechnology startup CrisprBits Private Limited has raised USD 3 Million through founders, angels & family offices, bringing the company’s valuation to $12 Million.

The current Pre-Series A funding round was led by Spectrum Impact, the family office of Rajendra Gogri, Chairman and Managing Director of Aarti Industries Ltd. The round also saw participation from the founders and existing investors including Vijay Alreja Family Office (VJ Technologies Group), an early supporter of CrisprBits, whose group company VJ Bio focuses on cell and gene therapy, aligning closely with CrisprBits’ CRISPR-driven innovation goals. The round additionally brought in new investors, including the promoter family of HBL Engineering Ltd., building upon the earlier funds raised from the founders, VJ Technologies Group and C-CAMP (Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms).

Vijay Chandru, CEO, CrisprBits, said, “Our focus has always been on attracting patient capital that shares our visionary goal: to Rewrite Biology and Reimagine the Planet. This funding round provides the fuel for that mission and our team of pioneering CRISPR scientists and results-driven commercial leadership. We are now perfectly positioned to not just launch our products and services in India, but to immediately scale to global markets, ensuring our innovation delivers high-quality, affordable solutions at a truly international scale.”

Startup: Game State Labs

Sector: Gaming

Amount: US$2 M

Led by: PeerCapital & Neon Fund

Game State Labs, an AI infrastructure and products company for the gaming industry, has raised US $2 million in a seed round co-led by PeerCapital and Neon Fund. The investment will enable the company to expand product development, strengthen its engineering and go-to-market teams, and scale globally as it reimagines how games understand and engage players.

“Our vision is to help gaming studios maximise the value of their first-party data,” said Aashbir Bhatia, co-founder of Game State Labs. “Game studios have always collected first-party data but the technology to utilise that data has been sub-optimal. We are changing that. By allowing AI to understand both player actions and player state, we are helping studios build systems that increase lifetime value and return on ad spend. We are starting with three product offerings, namely faster and deeper insights, predictive analytics, and hyper-personalization.”

Startup: Skydo

Sector: Finance

Amount: US$10 M

Led by: Susquehanna Asia Venture Capital

Skydo, Indian cross-border payments platform for exporters, raised USD 10 million in Series A funding led by Susquehanna Asia Venture Capital, with participation from existing investor Elevation Capital.

“Indian exporters are second to none in their global ambition. Skydo aims to enable them with world class payment infrastructure built from India for the world,” said Srivatsan Sridhar, co-founder and CEO of Skydo. “This funding fuels our mission to build the financial operating system for global commerce – from collections, payouts, card acceptance, compliance automation, and accounting reconciliation.”
