Event alert: Sino Global Capital celebrates local launch of SGC INDIA with web3 demo events and programming

SGC India, the newly launched regional arm of renowned blockchain and digital assets-focused venture firm Sino Global Capital, is expanding their India presence with the launch of their first  SGC India Demo Day today.

SGC India is hosting the demo day with Web3 incubator platform Buidlers Tribe as their ecosystem partner, partnering with community-driven developer network Devfolio as event partner, and FTX Ventures as venture partner in the event, which offers a pool of 2 million dollars in funding and up to 50 thousand USD in grants.

Startups with a Minimum Viable Product MVP can register here to apply to attend.

SGC India, a leading global blockchain and cryptocurrency-focused venture capital firm, is set to enter the Indian ecosystem which has been recognized as one of the supreme hotbeds for Web3 innovation with multiple global players focused on leveraging the existing Indian developer talent.  Web3 development and innovation in India witnessed investments worth $500 million+ in 2021 and experts are constantly moving into this market to leverage this talent pool as well as to encourage decentralized developments.

With the SGC India Demo Day, SGC India is moving into the highly active Indian web3 space by providing an opportunity to web3 founders to pitch their solution offerings and stand a chance to win from a funding pool of up to $2 Million set aside by them, subject to investment thesis fit, and a grant pool of up to $50K from Buidlers Tribe, on a case by case basis. Furthermore, the final shortlisted startups will showcase their product offerings live in an in-person Demo Day to be held in Bengaluru, India.

The initiative aims to tap into the vast developer potential of India and the constantly growing Indian Web3 ecosystem. The program will focus on startups who have already reached their Minimum Viable Product (MVP) stage and have relevant problem-solving Web3 solutions. Additionally, the program is track agnostic, thereby, open to all Web3 founders with futuristic startups that are efficient and sustainable. SGC India and Buidlers Tribe will further equip the startups with the right tools and guidance to enhance their product along with ecosystem and marketing support.

India has a number of unique characteristics that make it one of the most exciting and vibrant Web 3 markets in the world. With a mobile first, young and digitally advanced society, India produces some of the world’s most talented developers and entrepreneurs. We are delighted to call India home and to be working alongside such talented developers and entrepreneurs to build the next generation of the internet and the future of decentralized applications.” Matthew Graham, CEO, Sino Global Capital

“We’re thrilled to work together with SGC India to enable the next wave of Web3 builders and entrepreneurs and provide them with a global platform for their projects. Together we will build an ecosystem of developers, investors, and partners to support the growth of decentralized technology in India.”  Denver Dsouza, COO, Devfolio

“Builders Tribe has been focused on Web3 development in India and increasing awareness around Web3 entrepreneurship and innovations. With SGC India entering the Indian Web3 ecosystem, we have an opportunity to give a global platform to the startups and allow them to learn from leading industry experts and experienced entrepreneurs. We are excited to see the various solutions that we can support further onto a global scale.” Raghu Mohan, Co-founder, Buidlers Tribe

With 50K+ active startups, India has the talent and the resources to support innovative startups and entrepreneurs. SGC India thus aims to establish itself at the core of this active Web3 space as it steadily grows from the current nascent stage to a robust infrastructure filled with decentralized innovations.

The applications to be a part of this are open. This initiative is part of SGC India’s foray into the Indian Web3 ecosystem to witness the merited robust Indian developer potential through this Hunt and help the startups achieve accelerated growth through funding, expert mentorship, and guidance.
