Double Bubble Wrap: The Vision Behind Insulation Leader Aerolam´s INR100 Cr Investment in Ahmedabad

The Aerolam Group of Companies, one of India’s leading manufacturers of Double Bubble Insulation – Reflective Insulation, has recently invested INR 100 crore to set up its manufacturing unit in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Established in 2011, the company, which has business interests in real estate, education, manufacturing, packaging, and plastic films, is all set to take the Indian insulation market by storm.

The Tech Panda spoke to Brijesh Patel, MD of Aerolam, about their latest investment, product line, and future plans.

“We have recently invested INR 100 crore to set up our manufacturing unit in Ahmedabad. The new manufacturing plant is an integral part of Aerolam’s mission, aligned with the agenda of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and the Gujarat Government’s new Industrial Policy 2020,” he says.

Aerolam will manufacture innovative and technologically advanced products- Bubble Guard and CPP (Cast Polypropylene film), using state-of-the-art machinery at this unit.

“We aim to achieve an accelerated and balanced economic growth by building an innovation-driven ecosystem. The unit will create high-quality and environment-friendly packaging products, aimed towards sustainable growth,” he adds.

The company, under Make in India, manufactures products and solutions under five categories- Bubble Insulation, XLPE Insulation, FIBC Jumbo Bags, Bubble Guard, and CPP film.

Aerolam´s Plan to Capture the Indian Insulation Market

Placing India on the global industrial map, the Aerolam Group exports and has an outreach in 13 countries. The company plans to capture the insulation market by tapping on a sustainable outlook approach and strengthening its presence in India.

They aim to develop revolutionary products to create a better life for all. The products offered are green and recyclable, developed after in-depth study, yielding progressive benefits over traditional insulation materials. The products manufactured are 100% eco-friendly and recyclable.

The Aerolam Bubble Guard

They now make the world’s first Double Layer Bubble Guard Board with the highest weight range up to 6000 GSM. The Aerolam Bubble Guard can help companies reduce the transportation packaging costs by almost 60-70% across industries.

The Aerolam Bubble Guard Board is made out of polypropylene.

“It is a transformative product with limitless applications and seamless possibilities in nearly all industries. Its versatility allows it to cut across industrial usage, starting from packaging, construction, automobile, to printing,” Patel explains.

It is scientifically engineered to replace conventional methods of protecting, packaging, and paneling, with its simplicity of usage; thus, offering endless solutions. AeroPro Protect, AeroPro Infra, AeroPro Viscom, AeroPro Pack and AeroPro Box are innovative solutions for different applications across various industries.

“We always believed in investing the best technology.  We are the first in India to introduce double bubble insulation technology,” he says proudly.

They also have an extrusion lamination machine, which gives excellent bonding strength for their products.

“We can proudly say that we are the market leader in Bubble insulation currently. At the same time, we have fair market share for xlpe insulation as well. We have good market share for the international market also, since we export our product to 13 countries,” he concludes.

The company has also been included in a list of major market players covered in the Roof Insulation Market report recently. The market is estimated to reach a valuation of USD 14.07 billion by 2027, while garnering growth at a rate of 4.40% for the forecast period of 2020 to 2027. The reason for this growth and new opportunity in the market arises from the rising popularity of energy-efficient buildings in the construction industry.
