Cybersecurity startup secures $3.35MM in seed funding for novel approach to vulnerability remediation

trackd, the cybersecurity startup that is changing the game in vulnerability remediation, announced that it has emerged from stealth-mode with $3.35MM in seed funding. trackd’s unique approach, leveraging the collective experience of security and IT teams, automates vulnerability remediation without fear of disruption, addressing the long-standing challenge of slow patching. The seed round was led by Flybridge, with participation from Lerer Hippeau, SaaS Ventures, and Expa.

“Innovation in vulnerability management has been lacking for too long, and trackd is breaking that trend with a solution that has the potential to significantly impact remediation timeframes,” said Geoff Gilton, SVP of Technology at Service Credit Union, an early adopter and design partner. “We are thrilled to be part of the journey to bring this technology to the infosec community.”

trackd’s patch management platform records and anonymizes the experience of all patches applied by users in real-time, providing valuable data to other teams for planning and decision-making. This allows practitioners to patch vulnerabilities faster and more efficiently, reducing the impact on finite resources.

“trackd is providing the real-world, real-time patch experience data that is sorely needed in the vulnerability management space,” added Stel Valavanis, CEO of onShore Security, another early adopter of trackd’s solution. “This innovative approach will be invaluable to remediation teams under constant pressure to reduce vulnerability risk in their organizations.”

Founded and led by ex-NSA engineer and experienced startup leader Mike Starr, trackd has assembled a team of seasoned systems developers, security practitioners, and machine learning engineers.

“trackd’s seasoned team is well-positioned to bring the visibility and automation that is needed in the vulnerability management space,” said Isabelle Phelps, Partner at Lerer Hippeau. “Mike has unique domain expertise and has developed a truly original and innovative solution.”

trackd is currently recruiting beta customers, and interested enterprises can join the program at trackd.com.

“trackd’s approach to re-thinking vulnerability remediation technology landscape is truly innovative,” offered Chip Hazard, General Partner at Flybridge, the lead investor in the seed round. “Reducing cyber risk through timely patching is critical, and trackd is making that a practical reality.”
