BSNL Launches 3G Pocket Router for Rs. 5,800

State-run telecom operator BSNL has launched a 3G pocket router in association with communications solutions provider Shyam Networks.

The ‘Winknet Mf50’ router will come in handy when there is a need to connect more than one device using a single SIM card.

The 3G pocket router will be available in the market with a best buy price of Rs 5,800. It is SIM locked with BSNL and anybody who buys the router will be entitled to a plan voucher of Rs 60 which comes bundled with 1GB free data usage.

“We have 3G network in more than 850 cities. We are pleased to announce reverse bundling of Winknet Mf50 with BSNL 3G SIMs,” BSNL CMD RK Upadhyay told reporters in New Delhi.

In the reverse bundling arrangement, BSNL will give its SIM to Shyam Networks which will then sell the router fixed with SIM card. “The router will surely help towards providing seamless broadband connectivity for those who are always on the move and need broadband connectivity,” Shyam Networks Executive Vice President Nafis Kazim said.

The device will be available in 15 circle across the country.
